Cody holds a Master’s of Science in Counseling, and is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of Arkansas (A2310005).
Telemental health (HIPAA compliant video counseling) certification.
Cody is passionate about coming alongside his clients in the aim of discovering what their goals are for therapy, and how to best accomplish them. He believes that the therapeutic relationship itself is a place to explore one’s life-story, meaning in life, and how to overcome the feelings of being stuck in all kinds of circumstances. These things tend to unfold through the counseling process of naming one’s current problem/stressor, pointing out one’s preferred goals, and co-creating a strategy to move through obstacles.
Through a therapeutic encounter, Cody helps his clients to gain insight and clarity that can lead to healing and action. He utilizes elements from person-centered therapy, existential therapy, and solution focused brief therapy to collaborate on one’s best hopes from counseling. He works with adult clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, religious challenges, relationship challenges, ADHD, grief, and loss.
Outside of therapy, Cody finds joy in traveling, food, playing guitar, writing folk songs, playing board games, and watching the NBA.
