Cody is a student intern pursuing his Master’s degree in Counseling from John Brown University. He is aiming to graduate in 2023. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Religious and Philosophical studies from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2011. For over the past decade Cody has worked in various ministry settings for churches in Oklahoma and Arkansas. He found his passion for helping people during this time, and in 2021 decided to transition into the mental health field by working towards licensure as a therapist. Alongside helping others, Cody finds therapy to be a unique relational journey that can lead people toward their authentic self. Whether this authenticity comes from healing from trauma, gaining inner-insight, being able to express one’s emotions fully, Cody is grateful for the opportunity to begin counseling with all kinds of people. In particular, he enjoys working with young adults, singles, neurodivergent individuals (Autistic, ADHD), those struggling with addictions and/or their family members, and those with religious and spiritual trauma.
Outside of counseling, Cody loves to spend time with his wife and daughter going on trips or eating at local restaurants. He loves to make good coffee at home, read books, play board games, and sing/write songs with his guitar.
